West Homestead Borough has been accepted into the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) for wastewater (sewage) only. LIHWAP is a temporary emergency grant program to help low-income families pay overdue water and wastewater bills. LIHWAP grants may be available if you have an emergency situation and are in jeopardy of losing your utility service. As a resident of West Homestead Borough, you may be eligible for one grant of up to $2,500 for your wastewater service.
In order to qualify for LIHWAP:
- You must have an overdue water and/or wastewater bill that you are responsible for paying.
- You do not have to be on public assistance.
- You can rent or own your home.
- Your household income must meet the income guidelines.
