By law, West Homestead Borough can no longer take televisions, laptops, computers, printers or other electronic computer and/or audio-visual items as part of the Pennsylvania Covered Device Recycling Act. It is against the law for these items to be thrown out with your trash and for us to take them. They must now be recycled and can be dropped off at a designated collection point. Below are some of the collection sites, but you will need to call to find out what they accept, procedures, if there are any fees, times they are open, etc.

Regarding Freon-Containing Appliances: By law, West Homestead can not collect FREON-CONTAINING APPLICANCES (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers, etc.). If you need to dispose of any freon-containing device, call 1-888-GO-FREON (1-888-463-7366) Appliance Disposal, an authorized recycler. They offer curbside pickup, in-home removal or drop-off. There may be a small fee associated with their services.
