Responsibilities

  • Plans community events, such as Memorial Day, Community Day, Veterans Day, Halloween, Night of Lights, Holiday Parade to ensure maximum participation and community involvement.
  • Provides oversight for recreation programming, including establishing policies and fees for use of the Community Park; researching opportunities for Borough-sponsored recreational activities; and identifying funding streams to sustain Park activities and maintenance.
  • Ensures implementation of the Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Recreation, Open Space and Greenways Plan.

Meetings

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Borough Manager to develop, and update as needed, personnel policies and job descriptions for all Borough employees.
  • Ensures that employees are appropriately evaluated.
  • Conducts the evaluation of the Borough Manager.
  • Supports the Borough Manager in hiring and termination, and in any employment-related matters, such as Workers Comp claims and lawsuits.

Property (Blighted & Vacant)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and work with Tax Collection on blighted properties, vacant properties not owned or owned by the borough. Review Code Enforcement Process.
  • Primary objective is to move properties back on the tax-roles to increase tax revenues and improve/beautify the borough landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Review the Borough’s Sanitary/Storm/Combined System operations, sustainability, and financial impact on the Borough Finances.
  • Work with Engineering on Consent Order requirements and determine feasibility of maintaining current systems or outsourcing operations.
